Recipe for about 1,5 liter:
350 g pieplant (rhubarb)
1 liter water
1 kg sugar
10 g citric acid
Wash the pieplant and cut him in little pieces.
Boil up the water together with the sugar and citric acid. Put in the pientplant and let it simmer for about half an hour. Then leave it covered at a cool dark place for about a day.
After one day strain everything through a very fine sieve or a kitchen towel to filter out everything. Boil it up again and fill up the syrup in clean bottles and close it.
The syrup tastes great as lemonade with mineral water or with ice cold sparkling wine. ❤
